Frequently asked questions

Everything advertisers usually ask before getting started. If your question is not here, write to contact@sapads.com.

Getting started

Opening an account and getting the first campaign live.

What is SAPADS?

SAPADS is a demand-side platform. It is the software brands and agencies use to buy advertising space on other people’s websites, apps and streaming TV, instead of emailing each site and agreeing a price.

Who is it for?

Brands that want to reach people outside search and social, agencies running several clients, online stores, and app marketers buying installs.

Do I need to know how ad buying works?

No. You pick a goal, an audience and a budget, and the platform handles the bidding. Our team looks over your first plan before you spend anything.

How do I open an account?

Create an account, add your company details and your creatives. We review them, usually within one business day, and then you top up your balance and launch.

What do I need before I launch?

Your creatives and the page you want people to land on. A tag on your site is optional, and only needed if you want sales and sign-ups counted automatically.

Campaigns and targeting

Formats, audiences and changing things while they run.

Which ad formats can I run?

Display, native, video, in-app and connected TV. You can run one or all of them from the same campaign.

Who can I target?

By country, state, city or postcode, by what someone is reading, by device and operating system, by language, and by your own site visitors or customer lists.

Can I choose which sites my ads appear on?

Yes. Allow the sites and apps you want, block the ones you do not, and see every one of them listed in reporting.

Can I change a campaign once it is live?

Yes. Bids, budgets, schedules, audiences and block lists can all be changed mid-campaign and take effect straight away.

Which markets can I advertise in?

Our focus is the United States, and campaigns can also run in Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe. Tell us the markets you want and we will tell you what is available before you commit a budget.

Can I retarget people who visited my site?

Yes, with the SAPADS tag on your site. You can also upload your own customer list, as long as you have permission to use it.

Pricing and billing

What you pay, how you are billed and why numbers differ.

How does pricing work?

You pay per thousand views or per click, and you set the bid. What you bid is what you pay, with no platform fee and nothing added at the end of the month.

Can I set a target cost per sale?

Yes. Set what a result is worth with a bid cap, and the bidding leans toward the people who convert. You are still billed per click or per thousand views.

What is the minimum to start?

Tell us your goal and market and we will suggest a test budget that produces usable numbers rather than a handful of clicks.

How is billing handled?

Campaigns run from a balance you top up in the dashboard, so you are never billed for more than you have added. Invoiced terms can be discussed once there is spend history on the account.

Why do your numbers differ from my analytics?

Ad blockers, redirects, cookie limits and different attribution windows mean advertiser-side tools usually show fewer clicks. A gap of up to ten per cent is normal. Beyond that, tell us and we will look into it.

Quality and measurement

Where your money goes and what you can see.

How do you make sure my budget goes to real people?

Every ad request is checked before we bid, against known invalid traffic patterns and the publisher’s ads.txt and app-ads.txt files. Requests that fail are not bid on and are not billed.

What reporting do I get?

Spend, impressions, clicks and results by site, app, device and region, updated through the day.

Do you work with my measurement tools?

Yes. We can send clicks, installs and events to your own endpoint, and for apps we set up postbacks with your measurement partner, such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch or Singular, during onboarding.

How are creatives reviewed?

Every creative and landing page is checked before it goes live, usually within one business day. If something is rejected you will see the reason and can fix it or appeal.

Account and support

Agencies, help on the account and closing things down.

Can I run several clients from one account?

Yes. Agencies keep separate campaigns, budgets and reports for each client.

Will I get help with the first campaign?

Yes. Someone who buys media every day goes through your first plan and your first round of changes with you, at no extra cost.

Is there a contract or a minimum term?

No. There is no retainer and no minimum term. You add budget when you want to run, and stop when you do not.

Can I pause or close my account?

You can pause a campaign at any time. You can close the account whenever you like, and any unspent balance that is not already committed can be refunded.

How do I report an ad?

Write to contact@sapads.com with a screenshot, the page or app where you saw it, and the date and time. Every report is investigated.
